Siegel boys captured the program's first TSSAA bowling state championship in Division I while Hardin County girls continued their dominance.
Hardin County girls continued its dominance in the TSSAA bowling state championships with the program's 13th straight Division I team state title, a 26-1 win over Dobyns-Bennett at the Smyrna Bowling Center on Jan. 23.
Siegel boys captured the program's first state title, dominating Mt. Juliet, 22-5, in the Division I championship while Christian Brothers boys claimed the program's fifth DII state title with a 16-11 victory over Columbia Academy.
Lipscomb Academy girls captured its first Division II state championship since 2020, after knocking off Girls Preparatory School.
Hardin County's TSSAA bowling state title streak rolls on
You'd have to go back to 2006 to find the last time Hardin County's girls weren't competing for a team title. The Lady Tigers have competed in the past 20 state championship matches, winning its 17th title.
Four Hardin County bowlers rolled games of 202 or better six times during Games 1 and 2 of the American 10-Pin competition. Khloe Steely led the way with games of 237 and 232.
Siegel boys make first team state title appearance count
The Stars' won four of its six matchups in the American 10-Pin Game 1, including Jaden Kennedy's 257 score. That led to Siegel's win in Game 2 followed by wins in both Baker Game matches.
Siegel's team win comes on the heels of Westyn Griffin's individual state championship on Jan. 22, becoming the first boys bowler in school history to capture an individual crown. He's one of only two Siegel bowlers to win a state title (Danielle Jedlicki in 2017).
Lipscomb Academy girls return to top of Division II
The Lady Mustangs rolled to a 21-6 victory over GPS to claim the program's second state championship. Lipscomb Academy has advanced to four state finals in the program's history, finishing state runner-up last year and in 2021.
Jessica McClintock bowled a team-best 213 in Game 1 of the American 10-Pin. She followed with a 203 in Game 2. McClintock also captured the Lady Mustangs' third DII individual title on Jan. 22.
Christian Brothers wins first DII boys title in eight years
It was the first time Christian Brothers competed in the state final since 2020 and its first win since 2018. The program has been to nine state championship matches and outlasted Columbia Academy in the closest final of the day.
The two schools split the two American 10-Pin matches as well as both Baker Game matches. But Christian Brothers earned bonus points for the Baker Game matches as well as total pins knocked down throughout the championship to pull away.
