Eredivisie giants Ajax seem to have become the latest club to take an interest in Barcelona midfielder Marc Bernal as we head towards the end of the January transfer window.
Girona have already been linked with a loan move for the midfielder, and Ajax are also keen on a temporary deal, according to Diario Sport.
The club have received good reports on Bernal from Jordi Cruyff, who is set to become the club’s new sporting director at the start of February.
Bernal is having to be patient at Barcelona this season when it comes to starts, although Hansi Flick has made it clear he does not want him to go anywhere this winter.
“I hope he stays. My opinion is clear, but in football you never know what can happen,” he told reporters last weekend.
“He’s coming back from an injury, he’s improving and getting back into shape. He has a lot of potential and we want to help him reach that potential.”
Bernal could be set for a big week with Barcelona. Flick will be without Pedri and Frenkie de Jong against Copenhagen on Wednesday in the Champions League, with Bernal tipped to start what is a crucial game.
