Chelsea face Crystal Palace on Sky Sports tomorrow, and there’s been an absolute barrage of interviews for Liam Rosenior.

As well as speaking to NBC Sport, the new manager also spoke to Sky ahead of the game.

In a slightly odd and awkward interview created by a weird interviewer, the coach talked a little about his experiences as a player working with a new manager. He told an interesting anecdote about his time with a well know former Chelsea coach and Premier League manager, who had Rosenior as a player.

Brendan Rodgers meeting with Liam Rosenior at Reading

“I remember at Reading, Brendan Rodgers’ first meeting with us. He had a list of things that he wanted to work to, and things he wanted to get to. And that really impressed me, in terms of how he delivered it.”

“People who know me well… I’m not afraid if the moment comes to raise my voice. I’ve lost my voice a few times in recent weeks already. It feels like I’ve been here a lot longer than two weeks. It’s a really good sign. And I’ve enjoyed working with the players and seeing their engagement and what we’re trying to achieve.”

Tomorrow we get a little more evidence about whether his ideas are indeed taking root. Let’s hope he’s taken only the right things from Brendan Rodgers.

In other news…

The new manager had some interesting words on Enzo Fernandez, who has already been used in a variety of roles under the new boss. It sounds like that’s not going to change.

Rosenior also spoke about his belief in the playing out from the back tactic we saw under Enzo Maresca, and the “patient” build-up that has frustrated fans so much in the last two years.
