Tottenham fans once again turned on under-pressure coach Thomas Frank in the team’s underwhelming 2-2 draw at second-to-last Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.

The game ended with boos and more chants by Spurs’ travelling contingent for Frank to be fired, after Cristian Romero’s diving header in the 90th minute salvaged a point for the visitors.

The mounting pressure on Frank had eased a bit thanks to a 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in midweek, which left Tottenham in fifth place in the UEFA Champions League standings.

But it has returned, similar to the levels it was last weekend when angry Tottenham fans called for the Danish coach’s sack after a 2-1 home defeat to West Ham United.

With supporters continuing their demands for the 52-year-old to be relieved of his duties at the club, Thomas Frank has now provided a response to them.

Thomas Frank tells fans they are “working very hard” to get on top

After the 2-2 draw on Saturday at Turf Moor, Thomas Frank was asked during his postgame conference what he has to say to the fans demanding for his sack.

“I think the message to the fans, as I’ve said the whole time, is that we’re working very hard to make sure everything is going in the right direction, and that we’ll keep doing that,” Frank said.

The Dane also said that his team ended the game well despite widespread complaints from Tottenham fans who felt the performance was poor.

“The way we ended the game was good,” he said. “Average second half, which you’ve seen many times. Then, unfortunately, the two moments where we didn’t defend well enough.

“That’s what we are working very, very, very hard on to try to get on top of. We are fighting everything we can to perform as well as we can, that’s the way it is.”

Tottenham will face off next against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday, a game which will either make or break the camel’s back as fan pressure increases on Frank.
