The Philadelphia Eagles will not be hiring Miami Dolphins senior passing game coordinator Bobby Slowik as their new offensive coordinator.
Slowik is keeping his talents in South Beach to be the Dolphins’ play-calling offensive coordinator under new head coach Jeff Hafley, according to multiple reports. The two coaches previously overlapped on Kyle Shanahan’s San Francisco 49ers coaching staff from 2017-2018.
It’s not shocking, then, that Slowik decided to stay in Miami. But this development means the Eagles are down another candidate that they’ve interviewed for their offensive coordinator opening.
A look at the remaining known candidates who are definitely still available:
- Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard
- Former New York Giants interim head coach Mike Kafka
- Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter
- LSU offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr.
- Former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy
- Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle
There’s also buzz that Brian Daboll could still be a possibility for the Birds, even though it’s been reported that he’s expected to end up as the Tennessee Titans’ offensive coordinator should he fail to land a head coaching job.
So, who do you want the Eagles to hire?
And who is willing to accept this job?
