Three Los Angeles Dodgers relievers will be vying for a roster spot as the 2026 MLB Opening Day approaches.
The Los Angeles Dodgers could have at least three relievers vying for a roster spot on the 2026 Opening Day roster.
According to The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya, three Dodger relievers could be dueling it out for a roster spot: Justin Wrobleski, Will Klein and Edgardo Henriquez.
“It speaks to how much the Dodgers will cycle through arms that three different pitchers who will be on postseason rosters (Wrobleski, Klein, Henriquez) are far from locks to be on the Opening Day roster. Maybe the Dodgers move some of this surplus, just like they did with Ryan Brasier a year ago,” Ardaya writes.
Ardaya said that these three relievers are far from locks to be on the Dodgers’ Opening Day roster. With spring training less than a month away, Wrobleski, Klein and Henriquez will need to show up and show out, if they not only want to make the team, but be a key contributor for it.
Which Relievers Can Lock Down a Spot in the Dodgers’ Revamped Bullpen?
The Dodgers’ bullpen last season was among the worst in the league, struggling mightily with high ERAs, inconsistencies all throughout and were hit with a multitude of injuries as well. L.A. turned to all three at one point or another throughout the 2025 season and in the postseason.
Each has had their moment; however, it has not been enough for them to earn a spot as the upcoming season looms.
Wrobleski is a valuable left-handed pitcher who leans on his much-improved command and nasty slider that has made him successful. The Dodgers used him as a middle reliever and, at times, was used for multi-inning outings and filled rotation gaps when necessary.
Klein is considered a World Series hero; however, his job is still somewhat on the line. Nonetheless, the Dodgers have high expectations for him and if he can build off his heroics, he could be a solid, mid-tier relief pitcher for L.A.
And for Henriquez, he is a promising pitcher that could be used a a key bullpen arm. He has the talent to be a potential closer, but that being the case, with the Dodgers is unrealistic right now. Still, at 23 years old, the right-handed flame thrower has all the tools to make a name for himself on this star-studded team.
The Dodgers have a lot to assess with spring training on the horizon, and fixing the bullpen in it’s entirety will certainly be a focus. Which of the three relievers would you like to see on the Opening Day roster?
