In a recent post on X, Turkish journalist Mustafa Karatas revealed that Manchester United have set their sights on Besiktas midfielder Wilfried Ndidi. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils are eyeing a £12m move to secure the services of the Nigerian talent this year.
Ndidi’s Impressive Form In Turkish Football
Ndidi had enjoyed a decent run of form at the Turkish club as he has put in a series of impressive displays for them in the middle of the park. The 29-year-old has registered one goal and earned one assist in 16 matches for Besiktas this season in multiple competitions.
The Turkish talent is currently among the most consistent midfielders in the Turkish Super Lig. Hence, Man United would do well to get him on board this year.
His current contract at the Turkish club will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for the Red Devils to sign him on the cheap this year.

Is Ndidi A Good Option For Man United?
Ndidi is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot.
The Nigerian talent is a good passer of the ball and can make some strong runs with the ball from midfield. Ndidi is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also operate as a box-to-box midfielder if needed. He already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to settle into life at the Mancunian club.
We can expect Ndidi to bring more quality and depth to Man United head coach Michael Carrick’s midfield. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at Old Trafford.
At 29, Ndidi is playing in his prime, which makes him a decent option for the Red Devils to consider this January or at the end of this campaign. However, he would only serve as a short-term fix to Man United’s midfield concerns. Another option for Carrick would be to sign someone younger and with better potential this year.
