The return of Valentin Carboni to Argentina did not begin as planned, with the Inter Milan loanee enduring a difficult debut for Racing Club.

Carboni joined Racing during the January window after a mixed spell at Genoa, generating real excitement among supporters eager to see the 2005-born attacker back in his home country.

However, his first appearance fell short of expectations. Racing slipped to a 2-1 defeat against Gimnasia La Plata, and Carboni left the pitch early in the second half.

The youngster struggled to influence the game and managed just one effort on target before being substituted in the 57th minute.

As a result, his debut ended without the impact many had hoped for.

After the match, Racing head coach Gustavo Costas addressed Carboni’s performance with honesty.

“Valentin had difficulties,” Costas admitted, with quotes via FCInterNews, acknowledging the challenges faced by the Inter-owned forward.

For Carboni, the debut serves as a reminder that adaptation takes time.

Racing will hope that, with minutes and patience, the Inter prospect can quickly turn the page and begin to show his true level.
