This move shouldn’t end up being long-term. Scheffler’s pretty close with his testing of the Qi4D, but he has now won 14 times with the Qi10 driver and 3-wood. It’s easy to develop a level of comfort when you play so well with those clubs that you fall back on them.
Scottie Scheffler did return to his TaylorMade Qi10 driver this week after playing the new Qi4D at the Hero World Challenge last month, but don't expect this move to be long term. This isn’t a new phenomenon for Scheffler, though. If you recall, Scheffler used a new Qi10 driver for one round at the 2023 Hero before switching back to the Stealth 2 for the final three rounds on his way to a win. He didn’t switch back to the Qi10 until Phoenix, but he ended up going on a generational run with that driver. These things are a process.
Scheffler did add a new Qi4D 7-wood to the bag this week, replacing the new Qi35 model he used at times last season in place of his Srixon ZU85 3-iron. Like his 7-wood last year, the new Qi4D has a short build at nearly a 5-wood finished loft (20˚) in order to fill the necessary carry gap (240 yards) Scheffler and TaylorMade Tour rep Adrian Reitveld were looking for.
"We fit his 3-wood shorter, so it did not go further than his desired distance with that club, so when you fit a standard 5-wood, it goes too far,” Reitveld said. “You don't want to add loft to a 5-wood because it closes the face, so we built a 5-wood spec in a 7-wood head. It has the dynamics of a 5-wood but with the spin and launch conditions of a 7-wood to produce the carry number he wants with that club."
Reitveld also bent the club more upright to sit squarer at address.
The win also marks No. 14 on the PGA Tour (16 worldwide) for Scheffler’s TaylorMade Spider Tour X L-Neck putter that he switched to in 2024. It’s now the second win in a row for the putter platform to start the season after Chris Gotterup used one to win the Sony Open last week. Players using a Spider putter won 15 times on Tour last season, nine of those coming from Scheffler and Rory McIlroy.
Scheffler now has 20 wins on the PGA Tour before turning 30, joining Tiger Woods as the only other player to do that.

SHAPED FOR SPEED The re-engineered head profile increases ball speed thanks to improved aerodynamics developed through advanced simulations. FACE FOR DISTANCE 60x Carbon Twist Face
is a technological cornerstone that provides weight savings, incredible ball speed and more consistency vs. a titanium face. ADJUSTABLE PERFORMANCE 4° loft sleeve can be used to adjust loft, lie and face angle for optimized flight. TOUR PROVEN TECHNOLOGIES New and improved cut-through Speed Pocket protects ball speed and reduces spin on low-face strikes. Advanced CAD modeling creates a design with a clean and powerful sound, a foundation of TaylorMade driver performance. Multi-Material Construction allows engineers to strategically place mass in areas of the head where it maximizes performance, speed, and stability.
The Fujikura Ventus Black utilizes a Tour-inspired profile and the first to include Fujikura’s VeloCore Technology in an accelerated taper, ultra stiff tip profile. Maximum energy transfer from the tip section boosts the clubhead’s performance and a straight taper design enhances loading and feel. You can purchase the Fujikura Ventus Black in the following models: 6, 7, and 8. You can buy the Fujikura Ventus Black with the adaptor sleeve of choice built to your requires specifications. JOCKEY TIP: The Fujikura Ventus Black is ideal for the player looking for a low launch, low spin shaft that was designed to significantly tighten shot dispersion and maximize ball speed especially on off-center shots.
PROVEN RECIPE TaylorMade Fairways have dominated on Tour for over a decade because of their unique performance recipe, which enables maximum distance and versatility. The Qi4D fairway is designed for golfers who want the most advanced technology while still prioritizing versatility and control with amazing distance. ADJUSTABLE PERFORMANCE Utilizing a single Trajectory Adjustment System weight (8g x1) provides the golfer a more mass efficient way to adjust flight, spin and swing weight. 4° loft sleeve can be used to adjust loft, lie and face angle for optimized flight and is available in all lofts. REFINED ATTRIBUTES, BIG CHANGES Engineers conducted an objective analysis of all the performance attributes and discovered new methods to enhance performance and confidence. Sit points, lie angles, address views, and center of gravity locations were all updated based on Tour feedback and the expertise of leading fitters worldwide, ensuring the optimal fairway across skill levels. TOUR-PROVEN TECHNOLOGIES New and improved cut-through Speed Pocket
protects ball speed and reduces spin on low-face strikes. Advanced CAD modeling creates a design with a clean and powerful sound, a foundation for TaylorMade fairway performance. Twist Face features corrective face curvature designed to provide straighter shots on mishits. Multi-Material Construction allows engineers to maximize performance by increasing discretionary weight.
MILLED GRIND SOLE DEBUT Milled Grind eliminates variances in sole geometry from head to head and ensures precision in every iron set, while the CNC machined sole geometry and a precise leading edge promote consistent turf interaction. TIGER’S FINGERPRINT Each iron has been meticulously shaped to meet Tiger’s discerning eye-longer blade length, thinner topline, progressive face height, and more.
For every shot, every lie, every course, there's a grind fit for your swing. Finding the right grind to match your swing and playing conditions will give you the best turf interaction, contact and shot performance. Master Craftsman Bob Vokey has spent decades crafting, developing and improving his tour proven grinds to fit players of all levels.Anyone can manufacture a wedge, but it takes a master to turn a piece of high-performance technology into an instrument of creative control. Bob's six tour-proven grinds are designed to offer maximum creativity, versatility and consistency, all meticulously developed through years of working with the best players in the world. PROGRESSIVE CENTER OF GRAVITY SM9 features a progressive center of gravity (CG) throughout the lofts, which optimizes ball flight, accuracy and forgiveness. Using tapered top lines and varied hosel lengths, the Vokey R&D team has raised the height of the CG in the higher lofts, which promotes a lower, more controlled flight. The CG is also forward of the face, resulting in increased MOI, exceptional feel and a club face that simply wants to square up at impact. SPIN MILLED GROOVES SM9's patented Spin Milled grooves are meticulously engineered through a new cutting process to maximize spin and durability. The process starts by cutting the face perfectly flat with a high-speed saw. Then every groove is individually cut based on loft and finish; low lofts (46°-54°) are designed with narrower, deeper grooves, while higher lofts (56°-62°) have wider, shallower grooves.Micro-grooves are individually cut in between grooves, which maximize spin on partial shots. A proprietary heat treatment is applied to the impact area which doubles the durability of the groove without impacting feel, making it the most durable groove in golf. The process is only complete when every Vokey wedge is 100% inspected for utmost quality and performance.

The modern-day grip standard. Tour Velvet is the perfect blend of state-of-the-art rubber and a one-of-a kind plus sign texture for all-around playability. The ultimate combination of comfort and performance is what makes Tour Velvet the most popular grip in golf today.
The Greatest Combination of Speed, Spin and Feel Pro V1 golf balls are the optimal premium performance choice for most players and the most played model in golf. Why Play Pro V1? Pro V1 is recommended to players who are looking for mid-trajectory flight, very low long game spin and maximum short game spin, with softer feel. Comparison to Pro V1x Due to its unique dimple pattern, Pro V1 has a lower flight than Pro V1x. A softer gradient core produces a softer feel and slightly less spin than Pro V1x.
