Liam Rosenior was a controversial appointment in some ways at Chelsea – he has very little experience to be taking over such a huge club.
But fan unhappiness is aimed at the owners, not at the coach. And after racking up his 4th win in 5 games as Blues boss, there was a notable reaction from the away support at Selhurst Park yesterday.
After the game, Liam Rosenior reacted to the positive songs sung about him from the supporters.
Rosenior thanks players for result and hopes connection with fans is building

“I hope [that means more of a connection]. I’m very happy to be here. It’s a fantastic club with fantastic supporters,” Rosenior explained.
“As I said, it’s two-way. I have to earn that. I’m aware of that. Not just me, my staff, the players, the team, in our performances, and I hope over time I’ll see that something good may happen here. The reason I get that today was the hard work of everyone on the training pitch, the hard work of the players on the pitch. It’s not about me. Hopefully I can, myself and the staff and the players, make them really happy in the days to come.”
There is still plenty of negativity around – the chants against the owners were even louder than those in favour of Rosenior. But this is great progress from him, and if he keeps winning, the connection will only continue to grow stronger.

Estevao had a superb impact yesterday, and after the game Liam Rosenior spoke a little about how he was going to help manage the youngster’s progress.
Rosenior also spoke about Andrey Santos, who played well in a double pivot with Moises Caicedo in the game yesterday and performed really well.
