Ireland hammered Namibia by eight wickets to win their final Twenty20 Women's World Cup qualifying group match in Kathmandu.

Namibia won the toss and elected to bat but three wickets each from Aimee Maguire and Lara McBride helped Ireland restrict their total to 107-8.

Ireland needed just 14.1 overs to overhaul that total as Gaby Lewis hit 33 and Orla Prendergast's good form continued with 39.

Progression to the Super Six stage had already been secured prior to the game and the Irish finished Group A with three wins from four matches.

Ireland won their first two matches against Papa New Guinea and the USA, before a narrow loss to Bangladesh.

The top three teams from each group qualified for the Super Six Stage and the four best teams will progress to the T20 World Cup in England in June.

Ireland open their Super Six bid against Scotland on Wednesday, 28 January and will also face the Netherlands and Thailand.
