The Oregon women’s tennis team kept its spring slate spotless Saturday at the Student Tennis Center, rolling past Idaho and New Mexico State in a doubleheader sweep. Oregon posted back-to-back 4-0 wins over the Vandals and Aggies, fueled by consistent play at the top of the lineup from Tilde Jagare and Olivia Symons and clean team execution in both matches.
Oregon 4, Idaho 0
Oregon started the day by taking the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. Patsy Daughters and Bridget Mihulka earned their first doubles victory of the season with a 6-4 decision, and Hinata Furutani and Juliette Santitto followed with a 6-4 win to put the Ducks in front early.
In singles, Symons was first off, taking care of business in straight sets on court two. Jagare followed with a 6-2, 6-3 win on court one, pushing Oregon’s lead to 3-0. Freshman Virginia Crocker clinched the match on court three, closing out a 6-3, 6-3 victory to secure the sweep. Three additional singles matches were left unfinished after the Ducks clinched.

Oregon carried that momentum into the afternoon match, again claiming the doubles point with a pair of 6-3 wins on courts one and three. Jagare and Symons took down Whitney Moon and Anna Pinaieva, while Hadley Appling and Crocker earned the win on court three.
Jagare then delivered another efficient performance on court one, defeating Pinaieva 6-2, 6-1. Symons followed with a 6-4, 6-2 win on court two to make it 3-0. Mihulka clinched the match on court six, earning the fourth point with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Anna Klimova. The remaining three singles matches were suspended once Oregon secured the team win.

Men Split Road Trip
Oregon men’s tennis split its weekend trip to Palo Alto, Calif., dropping a narrow decision to Rice before responding with a decisive sweep of Utah in the consolation round of the ITA Kickoff at Stanford.
Oregon 3, Rice 4
On Friday, the Ducks suffered their first loss of the season, falling 4–3 to Rice in a match that swung on the margins. Oregon entered singles play trailing after Rice claimed the doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 2, though Vlad Breazu and Declan Galligan delivered a statement at No. 3 doubles with a 6–0 shutout.
Oregon made its push in singles and won four of the six courts, starting at the top where Breazu set the tone with a 6–3, 4–6, 6–1 comeback win at No. 1. The Ducks also picked up straight-set victories at the bottom of the lineup, with Lachlan Robertson defeating Gabriel Porras 7–5, 6–3 at No. 5 and Russell Soohoo earning a 6–2, 6–3 win over Noey Do at No. 6. Rice ultimately secured the team win with three-set victories at Nos. 2, 3 and 4, clinching at No. 4 as Kabeer Kapasi edged Matthew Burton 1–6, 7–5, 6–4 to deliver the decisive fourth point.
Oregon 4, Utah 0
Oregon bounced back Saturday with a comprehensive 4–0 win over Utah, reasserting control early with a clean doubles sweep at the top two positions. Matthew Burton and Pierre Mouesca posted a 6–4 win at No. 1, and Cameron Burton and Robertson matched it with a 6–4 victory at No. 2 to put the Ducks in front.
From there, Oregon closed quickly in singles. Matthew Burton was first off the court at No. 4 with a 6–3, 6–1 win over Simeon Terziev, Mouesca followed at No. 2 with a 6–2, 6–1 decision against Emmett Potter, and Robertson clinched the match at No. 5 with a 6–4, 6–0 win over Balthazar Huss. Remaining singles matches were stopped once Oregon secured the fourth point, as the Ducks wrapped the weekend 1–1 in Palo Alto and improved to 6–1 overall.

Oregon women’s tennis continues its schedule with road matches in Texas against Texas Tech and Sam Houston on Feb. 1 and 2 before returning home to host Portland on Feb. 7.
