Tuesday's City Tournament championship between Scecina and Cathedral will be played at Cathedral instead of Tech.
New day, new location.
The boys basketball City Tournament championship game between top-seeded Cathedral and third-seeded Scecina will be played on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Cathedral.
The game is moved from Tech, the usual host of the City semifinals and championship, due to Indianapolis Public Schools having an e-learning day on Tuesday because of the inclement weather.
Cathedral (12-3), the defending City champion and winner of six of the past nine tourneys, pulled away in the final four minutes for a 67-54 win over fourth-seeded Cardinal Ritter in Saturday afternoon’s first semifinal game at Tech. Keaton Aldridge led the Irish with 16 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and five steals. Braylon Pippins added 15 points, Skylar Rodgers had 14 points, and Julien Smith added 11 points and seven rebounds.
Scecina rolled to a 67-38 win over second-seeded and short-handed Crispus Attucks in the second semifinal. Sophomore Ian Collins scored 18 of his 20 points in the first half to help the Crusaders out to a 13-point halftime lead. Bryce Mathis scored 10 of his 16 points in the second half as Scecina pulled away. Attucks was playing without 26-point per game scorer DeZhon Hall, who missed the game with a leg injury, and junior guard Corde Hill (hip injury).
