Ferran Torres hands Barcelona boost ahead of must-win Champions League clash against FC Copenhagen

The Shark is fit and available.

Barcelona will welcome Ferran Torres back from injury for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with FC Copenhagen at the Camp Nou.

Torres has been out with a minor hamstring injury but was back in training ahead of the game. Hansi Flick then confirmed at his pre-match press conference that Torres is fit and available.

“He had his final tests yesterday, and he trained today. He’s fine and ready for tomorrow. I’m happy he’s recovered so quickly,” he said.

Flick must now decide between Ferran and Robert Lewandowski for a place in the starting XI, with Raphinha and Lamine Yamal also set to feature.

Barcelona are hoping to win the game and secure automatic qualification to the knockout phase and know that goal difference may be crucial.

Flick says Barcelona know it won’t be an easy game but is confident his team can get the job done.

“We are confident and we respect Copenhagen because they also need to win to advance to the next stage,” he added.

“I tell them to play at their highest level because it won’t be easy. We want to reach the top eight; that’s our job.”
