MACHESNEY PARK, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — Harlem and Belvidere staged a tight NIC-10 battle Wednesday with Harlem prevailing 55-52. The game went right down to the wire.
Belvidere, trailing by three with 4.1 seconds to play, had a chance to try to force overtime. The Bucs inbounded the ball needing to go the length of the court for a potential basket, but that hope was thwarted when Jackson Cook intercepted the inbound pass and ran out the clock.
Mateo Perera led Harlem in scoring with 20 points. Cruz Cook scored 12 points. Belvidere’s top scorer was Demetrious Taborn with 16 points. Dominic Alvarado added ten points.
