The Steelers’ new running backs coach has an offensive line background.
The Steelers have reportedly added another name to their 2026 coaching staff, with Cowboys beat writer Clarence Hill Jr. posting Thursday that Pittsburgh has hired Dallas assistant offensive line coach Ramon Chinyoung as the team’s next running backs coach.
Chinyoung will be filling the role previously held by Eddie Faulkner in Pittsburgh.
Chinyoung got his NFL start in 2022 as an offensive quality control coach with the Denver Broncos. He joined then-Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy’s staff in Dallas in 2023, working as an assistant offensive line/quality control coach. In 2025, he switched fully to assistant offensive line coach.
In 2025, the Cowboys offense ranked second in yards per game and seventh in points. Chinyoung was also part of McCarthy’s top-ranked scoring offense in 2023.
During his time with the Cowboys, Chinyoung has worked with running backs such as Rico Dowdle, Javonte Williams, Ezekiel Elliott, and Tony Pollard. He’s also worked alongside Pro Bowl offensive linemen Zack Martin and Tyler Smith.
In Pittsburgh, Chinyoung will inherit a running back room with Jaylen Warren, Kenneth Gainwell, and Kaleb Johnson.
