Jaxson Hayes accepts NBA Slam Dunk Contest invitation | Report

Former Moeller HS standout Jaxson Hayes is averaging 6.4 points and 3.9 rebounds over 38 games this season for the Lakers.

Los Angeles Lakers center Jaxson Hayes, a former Moeller High School standout, and San Antonio Spurs rookie Carter Bryant have accepted invitations to the 2026 NBA Slam Dunk Contest at All-Star weekend Feb. 13-15 in Los Angeles, according to a report Jan. 29 from ESPN's Shams Charania.

The dunk contest is expected to take place Feb. 14. Mac McClung, who has won the contest three consecutive years, is not expected to participate this time.

Hayes, who is averaging 6.4 points and 3.9 rebounds per game over 38 games this season for the Lakers, went between-the-legs before a dunk earlier in the week in a win over the Chicago Bulls.

Hayes' dunk was shared on Twitter/X by the NBA's official account:

Hayes, the son of former Cincinnati Bengals tight ends coach Jonathan Hayes, is in his seventh NBA season, third with the Lakers.
