Inter have received an important boost as Denzel Dumfries nears his return from injury, while potential moves for Moussa Diaby and Ivan Perisic remain difficult.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Nerazzurri may not sign anyone new, but they will soon regain a key player.

Dumfries is targeting a comeback for the second leg of Inter’s upcoming Champions League playoff.

His return would bring energy and width back to the right flank. It would also give Cristian Chivu a more natural tactical balance at a crucial moment in the season.

Inter still explored attacking reinforcements.

Sporting director Piero Ausilio made contact for former Bayer Leverkusen and Aston Villa winger Moussa Diaby, now at Al-Ittihad.

Inter reached an agreement with the player, who was willing to reduce his salary to return to Europe.

However, the Saudi club rejected Inter’s proposal of a loan with a €35 million option to buy. Coach Sergio Conceição considers Diaby important, and Al-Ittihad refused to negotiate.

Inter also revisited Ivan Perisic. The Croatian wants one final spell at San Siro after playing for the club between 2015 and 2022.

PSV’s Champions League exit reopened talks, but Inter have not yet reached full agreement with his representatives. Financial terms remain the main obstacle.

Other profiles, including Brooke Norton-Cuffy, do not fully convince the club. If no deal arrives, Inter will continue with Luis Henrique, whom Cristian Chivu appreciates. For now, Dumfries’ return looks like the most concrete reinforcement.
