Barcelona's Hansi Flick 'Disappointed' by Dro Fernandez's PSG Move

Flick reveals his disappointment over Fernandez's PSG transfer, lamenting the loss of a promising talent while respecting the player's choice.

In recent days, Paris Saint-Germain secured the services of Dro Fernandez. A transfer that did not please his former club, FC Barcelona.

Hansi Flick, the Barca coach, has commented on this departure.

While it has shown little activity in this winter transfer window, PSG did secure one signing in the form of Dro Fernandez.

The young midfielder, 18, who played five matches with FC Barcelona this season, had explained to his club's executives that he did not intend to continue his career at his formative club. He expressed his desire to sign for PSG.

Initially, the capital club wanted to trigger his release clause, before finally negotiating a transfer fee of around €8 million.

At the time of rumors about Dro Fernandez's potential arrival at PSG, Hansi Flick, the FC Barcelona coach, had harsh words for his soon-to-be former player, even excluding him from team training.

Present at a press conference this Friday, the German coach wanted to clarify his earlier statements.

"I have changed my mind. I don't want to say anything about that. I love Dro, but I am obviously disappointed. He knows that, too, but I love him."

"He would have had a great future here. He has made another decision, which I must respect, that's football," said Flick in comments reported by Foot Mercato.
