For some time now, Hansi Flick has shown great faith in Tommy Marques as a part of the first-team dynamic at FC Barcelona.
The 19-year-old starlet has not yet made his official debut, but it is evident that whenever Flick has an absence to cover or needs to complete the squad, Marques is his first option.
First-team debut sooner rather than later
According to SPORT, Flick fully trusts Tommy and has already told him to be patient, explaining that he is pleased with his development and that his first-team debut will arrive sooner rather than later.
The teenage midfielder has been a regular presence in first-team training sessions for many months. This can sometimes limit his ability to accumulate competitive minutes with the reserve side.

It is a delicate balance. Training alongside some of the best footballers in the world, however, is a privilege and a daily learning experience. He has been dealing with an intense schedule of travel, switching between teams constantly.
Recently, he played 60 minutes for the reserve team against CE Poblense, and the following day, he was included in the first-team squad for the match against Real Oviedo
Tommy has made 14 official appearances this season with Barça Atletic, a significant figure considering that he almost always travels with the senior squad.
It is not an easy situation, especially in terms of adaptation, combinations and understanding, particularly when he plays with the reserve side without even training under Juliano Belletti beforehand. Yet at just 19 years of age, he absorbs everything.
While he may not be included in the squad to face Elche tonight, Tommy’s first-team debut might just be around the corner, with Flick having full faith in him.
