Cercle Brugge are, according to HLN, keen on signing Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Charles Hermann before the transfer window closes. There had been talks of a loan for Hermann from Borussia Mönchengladbach to Cercle Brugge, however the Belgian side are keen on making the move a permanent one instead.

Hermann made his debut for Borussia Mönchengladbach this season in a 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen. Hermann, who is a German U20 international, provided the assist for Borussia Mönchengladbach’s equaliser. The 20-year-old has only played those four minutes in the Bundesliga, with another appearance in the DFB Pokal.

Cercle Brugge could certainly do with reinforcements and would offer Hermann more playing time than he could earn from remaining with Borussia Mönchengladbach. The Belgian side, who lost 4-0 to Antwerp on Saturday afternoon, are currently sitting in the bottom four and are set for a battle to beat the drop this season. Only one side can potentially go down this season, with the team that finishes bottom of the Pro League table facing the winner of the play-offs in the Challenger Pro League to earn the final spot in the top flight next season.
