Bayern Munich players were fuming with referee Harm Osmers after tense 2-2 draw with Hamburg

FC Bayern’s players weren’t having any of it

Bayern Munich drew 2-2 with Hamburg which has some fans thinking that the visitors are in the midst of a second midseason slump. Yes, Bayern weren’t deserving of the win but the referee, Harm Osmers, really lived up to his name. The 40-year-old was calling every soft foul on Hamburg and let rash challenges on Bayern players go unnoticed, which is what the visitors did with Osmers’ unacceptable display.

Bayern’s players were furious with his erratic officiating, with Josip Stanišić calling his performance “catastrophic” and even the level-headed Harry Kane saying that he was not on the level required of an elite referee (Sport1 as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia).

The Rekordmeister is no stranger to seemingly wayward match officials but getting one in matches like these is just unnecessary stress. Regardless, the Bavarians will be able to breathe easier now with a less congested February which means they could come up with a gameplan that can get them back on track.
