Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator set to come to Las Vegas

Sunday, the Las Vegas Raiders agreed to terms with Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak to become their next head coach, replacing the fired Pete Carroll.

Let’s get to know Kubiak more:

Current job:

This is his first season as the Seahawks’ offensive coordinator. Previously, Kubiak, who will be on bis sxith team in six seasons with the Raiders in 2026, served in the same position with the New Orleans Saints and coached former Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. He had a great one season in Seattle and has been masterful in the postseason.

Coaching experience:

Kubiak has never been a head coach before and has been an offensive coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings (2021), Saints (2024) and Seahawks. His offenses ranked 14th, 24th and third in points scored, respectively. He has also been the Denver Broncos’ (2022) and San Francisco 49ers’ (2023) passing game coordinator. Klint is the son of long-time NFL coach Gary Kubiak, who spent eight seasons leading the Houston Texans and two with the Broncos, winning Super Bowl 50 for Denver.

Age:
He will turn 39 this month.

Family affair:

His father, Gary, was a Super Bowl-winning head coach with the Denver Broncos. His brother, Klay, is the San Francisco 49ers’ offensive coordinator. They are all branches off the Mike Shanahan coaching tree.

Playing career:

He played safety at Colorado State from 2005-09 and he was a team captain as a senior.
