Four girls, six boys win age-division titles in District 5 competition

Winners in Knights of Columbus District 5 Free Throw Championship could advance to state competition on March 1.

WATERTOWN — Four girls and six boys captured age-division titles in the 2026 Knights of Columbus District 5 Basketball Free Throw Championship on Sunday, Feb. 1, at the Watertown Middle School.

All District winners are now submitted to the state level where the top eight scorers from district events across the state will advance to the State Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship on Sunday, March 1, at 1 p.m. in the National Guard Armory at Chamberlain.

District 5 winners included:

Girls Divisions

  • Age 9 — Campbell DeBoer of Watertown, made 12 of 25 free throws.
  • Age 10 — Shyla Allery of Sisseton, 12 of 25.
  • Age 11 — Rylie Hoffmann of Watertown, 13 of 25.
  • Age 12 — Dacotah Nowick of Strandburg, 20 of 25.

  • Age 11 — Rudy Stutzman of Watertown, 20 of 25.
  • Age 12 — Brock Anderson of Milbank, 23 of 25.
  • Age 13 — Teddy Dandurand of Clark, 24 of 25.
  • Age 14 — Leo Schumacher of Watertown, 16 of 25.
