Charlotte's Monday game against the New Orleans Pelicans (13-38) is shifting from its original 7 p.m. start time to 3 p.m. The change is being done because of winter weather conditions in the Charlotte area.
"Fan safety remains the organization’s top priority, and the Hornets encourage all fans to follow local weather guidance and exercise caution if traveling," the team said in a statement on Sunday.
The Hornets (22-28) are on a six-game winning streak and sit 11th in the Eastern Conference, 1.5 games out of a play-in spot. Monday's game will be the fourth in a row rescheduled due to weather. Charlotte won the previous three games (119-115 vs Washington, 130-93 vs Philadelphia, 111-106 vs San Antonio).
Charlotte is 11-5 in its last 16 games after starting a dreadful 11-23. The Hornets have scored dynamic wins over the top three Western Conference teams during the run (Oklahoma City, Denver, and San Antonio).
Brandon Miller (20.8) and LaMelo Ball (19.0) average the most points per game for the Hornets. Rookie forward Kon Knueppel has also been a standout for the team and was named to the Castrol Rising Stars for the 2026 NBA All-Star.
The Hornets visit Houston and Atlanta after Monday's game and then have a four-game homestand beginning Feb. 9.
For the second weekend in a row, a blast of winter weather hit the Carolinas, bringing frigid temperatures and icy road conditions. Saturday's winter storm brought large measurements of snow to the region.
