Lincoln City midfielder Dom Jefferies has agreed an extended deal with the League One promotion chasers until the end of the 2027-28 season.

The Imps opted to trigger a clause in Jefferies' contract to extend his stay despite a disrupted season, with hip surgery sidelining the 23-year-old until November.

Jefferies joined Lincoln in the summer of 2024 from Gillingham and has featured 57 times, scoring four goals.

"Dom signed a different type of contract to typical when we found something at his medical before signing him," sporting director Jez George told the club website.

"He has since successfully rehabbed from two major hip surgeries, and it was always our intention to then trigger our option.

"Dom is a crucial player within our squad. He has attributes and behaviours that we really value, he can play in a number of positions, but that shouldn't also detract from the fact that we see him as a potential starter within our team as we saw with his contribution last season."
