Missouri football sent three representatives to the Senior Bowl this past week. Here's how the Tigers performed in Mobile, Alabama.
Missouri defensive ends coach Brian Early thinks one of his graduates made himself some nice money in Mobile, Alabama.
And that was before Zion Young was named his team’s player of the game in the Senior Bowl.
Three Missouri football players took part in the Senior Bowl practices and all-star game between Tuesday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 31, in Mobile. Young has widely received praise as one of the standout performers of the week, but it was an encouraging week for the draft prospects of all three participating Mizzou alums looking for a shot at the next level.
The NFL Scouting Combine begins Feb. 23 in Indianapolis and the full list of participants likely will drop soon. Missouri also typically holds its on-campus Pro Day in February, although a date has not yet been officially confirmed.
Here’s how Mizzou’s participants performed in the Senior Bowl:
Zion Young, defensive end
Height: 6 foot, 5¼ inches; Weight: 262 pounds
Young was having a potentially life-changing week even before he was named the American team’s player of the game in the Senior Bowl.
Video after video dropped of Young breezing past offensive tackles, and it looks very much like he is on the path to solidifying an early-round draft pick.
Zion Young has the feeling of one of those early Day 2 players that everyone will say “why wasn’t he a first round pick?” this time next year.

“9 (Young’s number) made some money out there today,” Early posted to X/Twitter. “Been a privilege to coach this one. Special in every way. Trusted the process. Stayed with us when people tried to buy him with short-term money. Living the dream and about to make that real paper in April.”
Young had two total tackles, including a solo stop, in the all-star game.
In Matt Miller’s latest mock draft at ESPN, Young landed in the first round with the No. 25-overall pick to the Chicago Bears.
Kevin Coleman Jr., wide receiver
Height: 5 foot, 11 inches; Weight: 174 pounds
Coleman caught his only target for a three-yard gain in the Senior Bowl game.
The wideout from St. Louis, who spent one season as Mizzou’s slot receiver after transferring to the Tigers from Mississippi State, appeared to turn some heads before the all-star game with his ability to separate and route-running. He has landed on several all-Senior Bowl lists since the event ended.
Coleman is now No. 143 in Mock Draft Database’s consensus 2026 big board, which is a fifth-round spot.

Chris McClellan, defensive tackle

McClellan might be one of Missouri’s most-underrated players from last season, and he got his name on the box score in Mobile.
The big defensive tackle registered a pass breakup and combined with another player for a sack in the all-star game for the American team. He seemed to get a lot of checkmarks beside his name for his run-stopping ability and bull rush in practice reps, too.
The big defensive tackle from Owasso, Oklahoma, is No. 185 on Mock Draft Database’s latest big board, which is a sixth-round outlook.
