PHOENIX — Dillon Brooks didn’t just call out LeBron James over the weekend — he also aimed at a few other players and received a response from one of them on Monday.

The Phoenix Suns guard was a guest on Twitch streamer N3on’s broadcast on Jan. 31, where the duo drove around Phoenix and provided the audience with a mix of content creation and basketball conversation.
At one point during the stream, Brooks spoke about NBA players podcasting during the season — something he said he doesn’t agree with. N3on asked who he was referring to and whether he disliked Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green’s podcast.
Brooks answered honestly.
“They’re all terrible,” he said. “[Green] talk too much for me, but I’m saying they’re not good at basketball because they’re so focused on them.”
Needless to say, Green’s response to the Suns guard came quickly.

Green is a four-time champion with the Warriors and has used his platform and success to podcast during the regular season. It reflects his experience and expertise at the professional level of basketball, but Monday’s episode went beyond just hoops.
Speaking on his podcast, The Draymond Green Show, the Golden State forward didn’t hold back when addressing Brooks’ comments. He explained why current players host shows and podcasts, which he said are often tied to legacy and accolades.
“What made guys really comfortable with having these podcasts was because I was an All-Star and a world champion, NBA champion in the same year,” said Green. “… I know my name moves waves around this place, so I get it. ‘Say Draymond name, I get a little more attention.’ That’s cute. And I respect it because it’s true… Unfortunate that he wasn’t able to make his first All-Star game.”

The exchange reflects the broader conversation about professional athletes who podcast while actively playing during their respective seasons. These platforms help fans gain closer access to their favorite players and see them outside of their usual spaces. For many, it’s about continuing to build brand and connection.
While Green has embraced that space, Brooks views it as a distraction.

What makes the interaction even more compelling is that Brooks and Green will see each other soon, as the Warriors visit the Suns later this week. With words already exchanged and nothing sugar-coated, all eyes will be on how the two interact face-to-face.
Before then, Phoenix heads to Oregon to face the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 9 p.m.
