The decision to end her Leicester loan was taken at the start of January, five days before her 19th birthday, after concerns that she was not playing enough football.
Wellesley-Smith made just one appearance during her time with the Foxes.
She has now joined Rosengard for the rest of the season and spoke positively about the opportunity in her first interview.

“I think it is a good opportunity”, she said. “The Swedish league is good and I’ve heard good things from other teammates, Swedish players from Arsenal like Stina, Smilla, say good things about the league and everything.
“I’m just excited to be here, excited to play and can’t wait to get started.”
Rosengard added, “Cecily is a centre-back with poise and game intelligence. She is strong in the duel game, secure in positioning and confident with the ball. A leader in the back line who sets the tone – both defensively and in the build-up – and who can also be an offensive threat.”
Wellesley-Smith is a left sided centre back who can also operate on the right and signed her first professional contract with Arsenal in June 2025.
