Soccer will be one of the biggest sports be played during the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics. This will be the first time in Olympic history that there are more women’s soccer teams than men’s soccer teams competing in the tournament.
The Olympics will host 16 women’s teams from around the world and 12 men’s teams in 2028. The 28 teams will be spread across six different venues during tournament play. Then, the Women’s Gold Medal Match and Men’s Gold Medal Match will be played in the historic Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California.
On Tuesday, LA28 revealed the other six different venues across the country that teams will be competing at.

Six Additional Venues for LA28 Soccer Matches
- New York Stadium
The New York Stadium is still under construction and will be complete in 2027. This stadium will be the future home stadium for the New York City Football Club.
- Columbus Stadium
These games will be played at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field, which is the home stadium of Major League Soccer’s the Columbus Crew.
- Nashville Stadium
The Nashville Stadium will be Geodis Park, the home stadium of Major League Soccer’s Nashville Soccer Club.
- St. Louis Stadium
Energizer Park is the home of St. Louis CITY Soccer Club and will be the St. Louis Zone stadium for the 2028 Olympics.
- San José Stadium
PayPal Park is one of the two Olympic stadiums that is located in California. This stadium is home to the San Jose Earthquakes and Bay Football Club.
- San Diego Stadium
The final additional venue that will host Olympic men and women’s soccer game is Snapdragon Stadium. This is the closest stadium to Los Angeles and is home to San Diego Football Club, San Diego Wave Football Club and San Diego State University.
