London City Lionesses have completed the signing of Danish youth international midfielder Malou Marcetto on a permanent deal.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this evening.
The 22-year-old joins London City Lionesses from Spanish Liga F Moeve club Madrid CFF. She has signed on at The Copperjax Community Stadium until summer 2028.
Marcetto started out in her native Denmark with Brøndby before enjoying a spell in France with Dijon. She joined latest club Madrid CFF in 2024.
On the international stage, Marcetto has represented Denmark at various youth levels up to and including Under-23 level.
After joining London City Lionesses, Marcetto said “I feel very excited and so happy to be here. The facilities are great and the people I’ve met have made me feel really welcome.
“England just reminds me of and makes me think of football. It’s the biggest football country, in my opinion. Women’s football is growing here and it’s going to be a very competitive league to play in, I’m really excited to be here and get started.
“London is a cool city. I’m from Copenhagen so I think I’ll fit in very well. I’m so happy to be here.
“In terms of my playing style, as a midfielder, I like to be creative and also work hard. My aim is to be the best for the team. Winning and earning points for the team is the important thing.”
Marcetto is London City Lionesses’ second January transfer window signing.
