“The goal is to achieve things as a team to make it possible for him to win individual awards. But generally speaking, when he’s on the pitch, I don’t get the impression that he’s playing for individual awards, he’s a very complete player and plays for the team’s success,” Kimmich said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “I’ve never seen him sad in the dressing room because we won 3-0 and he didn’t score. He’s also someone who wants to put his teammates in the spotlight. This mix makes him very special and extremely valuable to us.”
That perspective cuts to the heart of Kane’s impact at Bayern Munich. He is the focal point of the attack, yet rarely behaves like one. Goals matter — and he delivers them relentlessly — but they are never pursued at the expense of structure, rhythm, or teammates. Kane drops deep, links play, creates space, and celebrates others’ success with the same enthusiasm as his own.
In a squad full of winners, that mentality carries real weight. Bayern’s dressing room is built on collective accountability, not stat-padding, and Kane fits that ethos naturally. If Kane does eventually lift the Ballon d’Or, it likely won’t be because he chased it. As Kimmich makes clear, it will be because Bayern succeeded together — and because Kane embodies exactly the kind of player individual awards are supposed to honor.
