Girona have confirmed that Barcelona loanee Marc-Andre ter Stegen will undergo surgery on Friday on his hamstring injury.

Michel’s side have offered an update on the goalkeeper after he sustained the injury last time out but are yet to confirm how much time he will miss.

“Marc-André ter Stegen will undergo surgery this Friday for the injury he suffered to the hamstring of his left leg during the match against Real Oviedo. The recovery time will be determined after the procedure,” read a club statement.

We’ll have to wait and see how much time Ter Stegen will miss, but the fear is that will be sidelined for several months due to the injury.

Ter Stegen moved to Girona in January in a bid to player regularly again after losing his place at Barcelona to Joan Garcia and this injury situation is a brutal blow to the Germany international.

Let’s hope the operation is a success and he can return to action as quickly as possible.
