When does luge start at 2026 Winter Olympics? Full schedule

The most dangerous of all Olympic sliding sports, competitors in the luge can reach speeds close to 90 mph. Check out when the medal events will run.

Sliding down a track of ice at speeds approaching 90 mph, competitors in the luge at this year's Winter Olympics should provide plenty of thrills for those watching in person and on television.

The sleds have no brakes and are controlled only by the riders' body weight, so crashes can − and do − occur. Even at the highest level of compeition.

Medals are awarded in singles and doubles for both men and women, plus there's also a mixed team relay race.

All luge events at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Games will take place at the Cortina Sliding Centre in Cortina d'Ampezzo.
