The signees for the Bulldogs represented a wide variety of sports including football, baseball, golf, softball and cheer.
Senior Jett Surratt chose to continue playing golf instead of football, signing with Texas A&M University-Texarkana.
“I was very blessed to receive an offer to go there and, kind of, it worked out perfectly, not too far from here. My grandma lives closer to there and, I got some very, very beautiful courses to play on and, I’m very excited,” Surratt said.
His father and head football Coach at Carthage, Scott Surratt, couldn’t be more proud of his son living out his dream.
“It’s awesome, you know, it’s his dream. He always wanted to be play golf and, you know, he had other opportunities, but it’s always been his dream to play college golf, and now he’s gonna be able to do that,” Surratt stated.
His teammate on the football field, Jeremiah Jones, signed with Texas Wesleyan University. This past season, Jones had a 95% grade with 56 total knockdowns.
Over on the diamond, Brooks Soape and Alex Welk will continue playing baseball in college. Soape signed with Dallas College Eastfield and Welk will play college ball at Arkansas State University Three Rivers.
Soape is a three-year varsity starter and was named to the 2025 first-team all-district team as a catcher.
