Will Michigan State’s Jeremy Fears start against Illinois?

Tom Izzo wasn’t happy.

Illinois will search for another top-10 road win Saturday night in East Lansing, and one of Michigan State’s best players may not be on the court (at least to start).

Tom Izzo had some choice words for Jeremy Fears’ performance in the Spartans’ Wednesday night to Minnesota.

“Jeremy’s gotta grow up a little bit,” Izzo said.

Fears, who is averaging 14.9 points per game for Sparty, received a technical foul for kicking Gophers guard Langston Reynolds in the groin.

Fears, a Joliet native and one-time Illini target, played a team-high 32 minutes, but Izzo was clearly not happy with his antics.

“I don’t even know if I’m gonna start him next game,” Izzo said.

MSU is 9-3 in Big Ten play, while Illinois is 11-1. Tipoff is 7 p.m. Saturday on Fox.
