Ibrahima Konaté’s future at Liverpool is up in the air, with PSG linked to the defender. Moreover, Konaté is in the final months of his contract as he’s set to become a free agent in June.
Liverpool has yet to secure him on a new deal, fueling transfer speculation. Konaté can sign a pre-contract with other clubs, and Foot Mercato reported that several top European teams, including PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, have been keeping tabs on him.
However, as the months have gone by, there’s no clear team taking the lead on the Frenchman. Nonetheless, if the Parisians are still keen on the defender, they received positive remarks on this file from football pundit Jamie Carragher.

Given the situation, Carragher believes Liverpool are likely to part ways with Konaté next season. He also sees the signing of Jérémy Jacquet from Rennes for £60 million on deadline day, with the transfer not taking effect until the summer, as a clear sign of a major change in the club’s plans.

“When you look at stylistically what Jérémy Jacquet is, it tells me Ibrahima Konaté is not signing,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“I think Liverpool are going to go and buy a proper centre-back in the summer, who I would imagine will play alongside Virgil van Dijk, and then you’ve got two really good young centre-backs.”
