The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will hold a key meeting of its Executive Committee on February 13 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, under the leadership of South African president Patrice Motsepe, according to Tanzanian media reports.

This meeting comes in the wake of fierce criticism following the 2025 AFCON final, which reignited debate over organization and discipline in African competitions.

In an official statement, the CAF president called for this meeting to be held outside the usual General Assembly schedule, with the aim of reviewing several regulatory texts, notably the Disciplinary Code.

The agenda is expected to include expanding the powers of CAF’s judicial bodies, enabling them to impose stricter sanctions for any breach of regulations or conduct that harms the image of African football.

This initiative is part of CAF’s commitment to strengthening governance and ensuring more rigorous and professional continental competitions.
