JOPLIN, MO. — New Heights Boys Basketball has advanced to the 43rd annual Warrior Classic tournament championship with a 67-54 win over Thomas Jefferson.
This one was incredibly back-and-forth to start things off. Both squads had a slow start offensively due to some stout defense on both ends of the floor.
Being a one-point game early in the third quarter, a 9-0 run helped the Cougars pull away. From there, New Heights leaned on its defense and maintained its lead until the final buzzer.
With the win, New Heights Boys Basketball moves to 15-5 overall and will take on Greenwood in the championship game on Saturday, February 7 at 4:30 p.m.
