Seahawks injury update: Sam Darnold fully practices Thursday, Nick Emmanwori sits

The Seahawks’ Thursday injury report is looking great, even if Nick Emmanwori didn’t practice.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold’s Thursday practice for Super Bowl 60 was probably as encouraging as it gets regarding his oblique injury.

Just before the NFC Divisional Round against the San Francisco 49ers, Darnold hurt his oblique and was questionable to play, but soldiered through and played a clean game in what was otherwise a blowout win. He was limited in practice throughout the NFC Championship Game before tearing apart the Los Angeles Rams, and remained as such until Thursday. This is his first full participant status since Jan. 14, which doesn’t change much in terms of whether or not he’ll play, but is nevertheless a positive sign for his recovery.

As for Nick Emmanwori, fears of him not playing on Sunday were likely eased by Mike Macdonald’s press conference comments, in addition to Emmanwori’s media availability. Macdonald indicated that there would be a cautious approach to practice for the rookie defensive back, which was backed up by Emmanwori not practicing on Thursday. Again, nothing to worry about until it’s time to worry.

“He’ll be ready to go regardless,” Macdonald said. “Let’s do the smartest thing for us and him every day, and make sure we’re ready to go. We’ll evaluate it tomorrow and see how much he can do.”

Charles Cross was limited with a foot injury but that is likely another case of injury management. Fullback Robbie Ouzts remains limited with a neck injury, which is much more concerning given he wasn’t at media availability tables each of the past two days.

Everyone else on the Seahawks was a full participant, so it’s mostly good to great news on that front. Here’s the penultimate injury report for the 2025 NFL season:
