South African forward Fagrie Lakay scored a crucial brace as his team, Ceramica Cleopatra, secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Ghazl El Mahalla in the Egyptian Premier League.
The 28-year-old striker opened the scoring in the 16th minute, before the visitors leveled matters through Abdi Ineza in the half-hour mark.
Amr Kalawa restored the lead for Cleopatra two minutes later, while Lakay completed his brace in stoppage time.
Jimmy Mwanga made it 3-2 deep in additional time to set up a nervy ending but Cleopatra held on for the maximum points.
Lakay's side is seven points clear at the summit of the Egyptian topflight standings, having picked up 35 points in 16 matches - but have played two games more.
Meanwhile, the former Cape Town City talisman has now scored four goals and provided three assists in 19 matches across all competitions this season.
Lakay signed for Cleopatra on a permanent deal at the beginning of the season, having spent the previous campaign on loan at the club from African champions Pyramids FC.
Up next for Cleopatra and Lakay is a clash against heavyweights Zamalek SC in the Egyptian Cup Round of 16 on Tuesday, 17 February.
