The midfielder is dreaming of spending his entire career at the club.
Fermin Lopez has officially signed his new contract extension at Barcelona and has been looking towards the future.
The midfielder has signed on until 2031 and admits he would love to one day lead the Barcelona team out.
“Being captain would be a dream. If it happens, I’ll be very happy, because I’ve been a Barça fan since I was little and I live for Barça,” he told the media.
“I hope I can stay for many years and finish my career here. It would be a pleasure and a dream. I don’t think I’ve reached my peak. I’m 22 years old, I’m in good form, but I want to keep improving and make history with Barça.”
Lopez also looked ahead to the rest of the season and is hoping that Barca can win more trophies.
“We have a good team, we’re a family, we’re back at the Spotify Camp Nou … We’re expecting a great season and hopefully we can make history,” he added.
“Obviously, the Champions League is everyone’s dream. We haven’t won it for many years and last year we narrowly missed out. We’re working towards it, we have the ability to win it and hopefully we will.”
