SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — As Johnson celebrated senior night for the boys basketball team, the team manager received a special honor.
Rico McNabb has been the boys’ team manager for the last four years. His goal is to play college basketball, but because of a medical condition, he will not be able to fulfill his dream.
Johnson boys’ basketball coach Chuck Campbell wanted to make McNabb’s senior night special. Johnson, who refers to McNabb as the team’s sixth man, had McNabb suit.
He was on the floor for the opening tip for the game against Beach. McNabb scored the first points of the contest between Johnson and Beach.
McNabb is really smart and is part of the International Baccalaureate program at Johnson, according to Campbell.
McNabb will be a basketball manager when he attends college, according to Campbell.
