Thomas Frank says he will not consider changing his captain following another red card for Cristian Romero.
The defender was given a straight red for a tackle on Casemiro as Spurs lost 2-0 at Manchester United, and will now miss four Premier League games through suspension.
Romero had already been in focus ahead of the game, following more outspoken comments made about the club on social media.
But Frank has backed his defender and again stressed his importance to the team.
“If you look at how many red cards he’s had, it’s not like he’s had that many throughout his career,” he said when it was put to him that Romero has been sent off six times in his Spurs career.
“You play with passion and aggression and there’s a fine line when you do that.”
Asked if there was a consideration to remove him as captain, Frank replied: “No, there’s not, and he also said sorry for the incident. He apologised to his team-mates in the changing room.
“I think he’s one of the most important players. I think when he’s performing top, he’s driving the team.
“I don’t think he had any intention to get a red card after 28 minutes.
“He apologised to the players, to us, to the team in there and that’s enough for me for now and that’s it. Nothing more to do now.”

Meanwhile, Frank has been handed another injury worry with Destiny Udogie being forced off and the Spurs boss says he will now be assessed.
“We will assess him tomorrow,” he said.
“Of course I will probably see you guys in two days’ time or less, then we will know more.”
