Bayern Munich have had two recent slip-ups with their draw to Hamburg SV and shock loss to FC Augsburg, but they’re still in the running to potentially win another historic treble. Prior to the dropped points against Augsburg and HSV, Bayern’s only other speedbumps in the road were the draw at Union Berlin and the loss to Arsenal in the Champions League earlier in the season.

The officiating for the 2-2 draw vs HSV was rather poor and had Michael Olise’s last minute shot at the Allianz Arena been just millimeters lower, Bayern would’ve at least rescued a home point vs. Augsburg, but these are the fine margins that don’t get remembered; it’s just a win, draw, or loss and likewise three, one, or zero points. Vincent Kompany’s side have well and truly exceeded expectations so far this season despite their recent hiccups in Bundesliga form, but we’re now approaching what’s often referred to as the business end of the season.

In a recent sit down with ESPNFC’s Archie Rhind-Tutt (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern center back Jonathan Tah explained that the squad is feeling well primed and confident as the head into the crucial stretch of the 2025/26 campaign. “The important games are coming now. I’m not saying the games we’ve had were not important, but this is fundamental to being successful. This period of the season has given us this confidence to play against the top teams and beat them too,” Tah explained.

Looking ahead, Bayern has a DFB-Pokal quarterfinal clash vs. RB Leipzig coming up as well as der Klassiker vs. Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga at the end of the month with a trip to Bayer Leverkusen not too long after. The Champions League round of 16 is also right around the corner.

With tough matches on the horizon, Tah feels that said matches will give Bayern even more confidence in that they know what it takes to get difficult results when it matters most. “The big games are coming, and we go into those games with a lot of confidence. We know what to do,” the center back stressed.
