Bayern have been linked to this guy. A lot.
If Bayern Munich had a nickel every time a notable talent in the Bundesliga had a good game against them and was subsequently linked to the club, the club could probably break its’ 0wn transfer record again. This year’s flavor of the year is the highly impressive Luka Vuškovic, who has taken to playing in the Bundesliga as an 18-year-old like a duck to water and forced Bayern to settle for a point in a recent Bundesliga match against Hamburger SV with the equalizing goal.
Unsurprisingly, Bayern’s board member for sport, Max Eberl, was asked about the rumors surrounding the current Tottenham Hotspur player ahead of Bayern’s clash against TSG Hoffenheim and had this to say.
“First of all, we have to solve our ‘internal transfers’ [extensions]. When that’s done, then we have a high quality defense. That doesn’t mean Vušković isn’t a good player,” Eberl stressed, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “He’s 18, is playing an outstanding season at HSV, he belongs to Tottenham. But FC Bayern also have very high quality center-backs with Jonathan Tah, Upa, Min-jae — and we also have Itō and Stani who can play there. So we can’t just sign every good player that people say we should sign. He’s a very good player, no doubt about that. But as I said, first we have to solve the internal transfers.”
Bayern do indeed have multiple players who could play at the CB position and that is before highly rated young talent Cassiano Kiala is taken into consideration. However, Eberl hardly rejected the possibility of signing the young Croatian as much as saying that first other things need to be taken care of. Though it would seem nearly impossible to pull off, given Vuškovic’s contract at Tottenham until 2030, Bayern have not ruled out a move for the youngster.
