Celtic have completed the signing of English midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, the club confirmed on Saturday.
The former Arsenal and Liverpool player was a free agent after leaving Besiktas at the end of last season and has signed a deal until the end of the campaign, with the option of a further year.
A graduate of Southampton’s academy, Oxlade-Chamberlain enjoyed the most consistent spell of his career at Arsenal before going on to win major honours with Liverpool, including the Premier League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
The 35-cap England international becomes Celtic’s fifth signing since Martin O’Neill returned on an interim basis, as the Scottish champions look to close the gap on Premiership leaders Hearts.
