That must’ve sucked big time, especially against a team like FC Bayern
When the final whistle blew, Hoffenheim was on the receiving end of a 5-1 obliteration at the hands of Bayern Munich. Few would’ve expected such a massive defeat or Kevin Akpoguma’s red card leading to a Bayern penalty which made the visitor’s job tougher. Except one person.
The Hoffenheim fan in question, user @bene1899, QRT’d (quote retweeted) Hoffenheim’s lineup post and said this:
Akpo [Akpoguma] either risks his life in the play or gets sent off and concedes a penalty. There’s nothing in between.
Unfortunately for the user and for Hoffenheim, Akpoguma conceded a penalty and gets sent off for it. Even BFW user fleetwell tried his best to will a Hoffenheim equalizer after Bayern went 2-1 up but Harry Kane and Luis Díaz thankfully had other ideas.
For what it’s worth, Michael Olise picked up his fifth yellow card and thus misses Bayern’s visit to Werder Bremen next weekend. But hey the referee today (Tobias Stieler) was much better than last week.
