Mikaela Shiffrin gets weirdly personal in funny Instagram video

If the TV cameras at the Winter Olympics get a little too up close and personal with skier Mikaela Shiffrin, you might notice something off about her.

Eagle-eyed Olympics-watchers might notice something a little different with American skier Mikaela Shiffrin at these Milano Cortina Winter Games.

Nothing with her skiing, mind you.

But if the TV cameras try to get a little up close and personal while she's competing on the slopes of Cortina, you might see something missing.

As Shiffrin explains in an Instagram reel she apparently recorded from her hotel room in Italy, she recently "went a little bit too far" with her personal grooming. Now there's, in her words, "a high likelihood that I'm going to cross the finish line and I'll just have half an eyebrow."

Shiffrin's split-second decision-making on the slopes has helped make her one of the greatest skiers in history. But her spontaneous decision to shave part of her eyebrow may not have been one of her best.

Despite that little setback, Shiffrin will begin her quest for gold in three events at the Milano Cortina Games starting Tuesday in the women's team combined.
