Jutta Leerdam added Olympic gold to glamour when she countered an Olympic record from team-mate Femke Kok en route to winning the 1,000 metres at the Milan/Cortina Games on Monday.
With her famous influencer fiance Jake Paul looking on, Leerdam delivered in the final pair where she faced Japan's Miho Takago who beat her for the gold in 2022.
The twice world champion Leerdam clocked 1 minute 12.31 seconds to lower the Olympic record Kok had set a few minutes earlier by .28 of a second. Takago earned the bronze, 1.64 off the pace.
Leerdam and Kok embraced after finally getting the first medals for the sport's superpower Netherlands in the third race.
Leerdam originally didn't qualify for the 1,000m because she fell in the Dutch trials but eventually given a spot after all for her pet event. She is also qualified for the 500m.
Leerdam is a top skater but also a huge star on social media where she has 5 million followers on Instagram and big endorsements.
But she was also criticised for arriving at the Games in a private jet and not talking to most of the Dutch media before the race.
